The PRP Survival Guide is designed to be a repository of experiences and insights shared by PRP patients and their caregivers. Collectively, the PRP community possesses a wealth of practical knowledge about pityriasis rubra pilaris. Only we can harvest that knowledge.

Share what you have learned as a PRP patient or caregiver about the importance of blood test in the treatment of PRP. Share what you have been told by your dermatologist? Share articles you feel might be worth reading or websites worth visiting. Here is the first question we ask about PRP, bathing, and showering?

Why are blood tests important to the treatment of PRP?

Bill M (Plano, TX)
When my dermatologist at the University of Texas Southwestern prescribed acitretin, he said: “We will try Soriatane® … and keep an eye on your liver. Every clinic there after included a liver panel. Since then – I have developed a healthy paranoia about my liver and always seem to ask my primary physician: “How’s my liver.”
