PRP Canada — Another Journey Begins

Under Relentless Pressure
Murray Rose Accepts Liaison Assignment

Editor’s Note: While “relentless pressure” may be an overstatement, Murray Rose, (Surrey, British Columbia, Canada) has always been on my “short list” to help launch PRP Canada. How short was the list? Murray was the only name. The first symptoms of PRP appeared to Murray in August 2016 at the age of 66 – two year after retiring from an accounting/business career. He joined the PRP Facebook Support Group On November 14, 2016 and is currently one of three Land of Chat “Administrators”. Learn More about Murray

A SHARPEN OUR FOCUS ON CANADA

With an estimated population of 37.7 million, Canada has an estimated 94 “active” PRP patients. While the PRP Global Database maintains profiles of 95 Canadians, at least 22 of these are “in remission”. There is both a need and an opportunity to support those diagnosed with PRP. The need is obvious.

PATH FORWARD

As Murray explains, “Canada, like every other country has it’s own unique circumstances when it comes to PRP. For example, we see reviews/ suggestions for moisturizers, scalp treatments, sauna suits etc. Many times the products are not readily available in Canada. PRP Canada will seek to identify Canadian resources.” The healthcare system in Canada offers both challenges and opportunities for PRP patients and caregivers. PRP Canada will try to provide a national perspective to what is a global conversation. If you are a PRP patient or caregiver living in Canada, please consider becoming a member of PRP Canada and sharing your perspective.
